Hercules have invested in acquiring specialist tooling, manuals and training to overhaul, repair and inspect Hamilton Standard propellers fitted to vintage and classic aircraft.
FAA AD 81-13-06 R2 Corrosion Inspection
Hercules keep replacement OEM Hamilton Standard Teflon strips and the correct coatings and adhesives in stock to perform FAA Airworthiness Directive 81-13-06 R2. We offer a fast turn-around service to minimise aircraft down time. This inspection can also be the perfect opportunity to re-finish propeller blades at the same time.
Oil Pressure and Leak Testing
All Hercules Hamilton Standard Hydromatic propeller overhauls include pressure testing for operation and oil leaks. Using the correct Hamilton Standard machinery, oil is heated and pressurised to replicate operational conditions. The propeller can then be returned to our customer safe in the knowledge that it will not leak.
P51 Blades
Extra care is taken with the inspection and re-finishing of the cuffed elements on blades commonly fitted to P-51 Mustang aircraft. Period-correct blade markings are replicated to customer requirements.
Counterweight Propellers
We keep the seals and consumables in stock to turn around counterweight propeller overhauls and inspections in a timely manner.
